KENTS TIPS

  • Nutrigenistein improves bone density
  • Nutrigenistein helps with hot flashes/night sweats
  • Nutrigenistein is standardized and non-genetically modified

Science has already proven the many health benefits of soya

2 to 3 capsules per day of NutriChem Nutrigenestein soya will guarantee the specific delivery of the amounts of Soya isoflavones which have been proven in medical studies to relieve symptoms of menopause and to improve bone density. As a clinical pharmacist, if I do not see the active ingredients on the label, I have no certainty as to whether they are there or not. Nutrigenestein is purified, standardized and non-genetically modified coming from the soya germ.

Nutrigenistein is a whole soy food supplement.  Although it contains intact valuable proteins and essential fatty acids naturally found in soy, Nutrigenistein is designed to deliver a concentrated, standardized therapeutic level of soy isoflavones:  naturally-occurring plant chemicals with numerous benefits.

Why take Nutrigenistein?
Soy and its main isoflavones, genistein and daidzein have been thoroughly researched to prove their effectiveness in various health conditions.

Heart Health
In 1999, the FDA began recommending 25 grams of soy protein each day as part of a low-fat, low-cholesterol eating plan to reduce risk of heart disease.  The cardiovascular benefits of isoflavones include prevention or arterial plaque formation, LDL (bad) cholesterol reduction and HDL (good) cholesterol elevation.1  In addition, soy isoflavones increase HDL (good) cholesterol while lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol levels by as much as 35%.2,3

Hormonal Health
Menopausal symptoms, which may include but are not limited to hot flashes, irritability, insomnia to depression, are related to an imbalance of estrogen and progesterone, the two female hormones crucial to the female reproductive system and general health.  At 1/100,000 the potency of prescription estrogens (eg., Premarin), soy's isoflavones are able to mimic the benefits of estrogen without the potential health risks associated with conventionally prescribed hormone replacement therapy.

Numerous studies over the past decade have demonstrated the effectiveness of soy for menopausal symptoms.  These findings continue.  For example, in a 2002 French study, women taking soy extract (standardized to 70mg isoflavones daily) had a 38% reduction in the average number of hot flushes by week 4, a 51% reduction by week 8 and a 61% reduction by the end of week 16.4

With respect to impact of soy on the prevention of cancer, higher intakes are associated with lower rates of hormone-dependent cancers.5  For example, in Japan, a woman's average consumption of isoflavones is 50mg daily, compared to 1-3mg daily by American women.6  Interestingly, rates of degenerative disease are correspondingly low in the former and high in the latter.

Bone Health
There are many contributing factors to the development of osteoporosis; however, studies show that the estrogen-mimicking effect of isoflavones may make them valuable in the prevention of bone loss.  For example, a 24-week study on postmenopausal women showed that the group taking 90mg daily of soy isoflavones from soy protein experienced significant increases in lumbar (lower spine) bone mineral density.7

Safe, Unadulterated Soy
Unlike some other soy products, the soybeans used to make Nutrigenistein are water-washed to preserve their isoflavone content.  Nutrigenistein soy is also 100% free of genetically engineered substances to protect you from the unknown consequences of consuming those products.

We are strong advocates of the classic patient-physician relationship  especially with respect to prescriptions. Any patient that requires a prescription must have a face to face interaction with their physician. FDA's general position: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law.   If a woman must take hormone replacement therapy to ease the symptoms of menopause she should take the lowest possible dose for the shortest amount of time.
