MSB V7: Frequently Asked Questions

When starting the MSB Plus Series, many of the people who contact NutriChem have similar questions. Here are some answer to some common questions about the MSB Plus V7 Series.  Please contact us if you have any concerns that aren't answered here.

1.  At what age can I start my baby on MSB Plus?

We do not recommend giving the MSB Plus formula to children under the age of 3 months.  The digestive system in children this young is very immature and stomach upset may occur.  Please contact NutriChem to find out about options for infants.

2.  Why is the dosage determined by the child's age rather than by the weight?

We dose the formula by age group because the recommended daily requirements are defined by age.  We use weight as a secondary guideline.

3.  What is the best way to give my child the supplement?

The formula should be taken with food and can be split into smaller amounts, and taken throughout the day.  Simply mix with water or juice and drink as a beverage or it can be mixed with foods such as yogurt, applesauce, pudding, or jam & jelly.

4.  Are there any side effects I should look for when starting the MSB Plus?

Sometimes in young children, stomach upset will be noted.  We encourage parents to speak with one of our biochemists for special dosing instructions if this is an issue.  Also, we always recommend taking supplements with a meal.

5.  My child has another medical condition and/or is on medication.  Will MSB Plus interfere with this?

At the time of your order, we recommend that you mention what medications your child is taking or other existing medical conditions.  Among our group of professionals on staff, we have licensed pharmacists available to determine if any interactions will occur, and modifications can be made where necessary.

6.  Do I need to do any blood/urine analysis before starting on the vitamin supplement?

MSB will address a majority of a person's needs and many families choose MSB Plus as their first choice for high-quality supplementation.  But each person is a unique individual - a customized formula can match a person's unique needs.  Most parents do set a goal of having a customized formula made for their children.

Our biochemists recommend families start using MSB Plus before having a formula customized for them.  To learn more about testing, please request our "custom formula" brochure or visit our website.

7.  How can I involve my doctor?  Can she/he review your material or talk to one of your chemists?

NutriChem works with physicians and health practitioners around the world.  We encourage families to consult with their practitioners.  Our biochemists are always available to speak with your practitioner.  A complimentary copy of Kent MacLeod's "Down Syndrome & Vitamin Therapy" can be sent to your doctor - just tell us where to send a copy!

We are strong advocates of the classic patient-physician relationship  especially with respect to prescriptions. Any patient that requires a prescription must have a face to face interaction with their physician. FDA's general position: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law.   If a woman must take hormone replacement therapy to ease the symptoms of menopause she should take the lowest possible dose for the shortest amount of time.

NutriChem does NOT sell prescription drugs online. Visit us in-store.
