What is Conjunctivitis
Conjunctivitis (pinkeye) is an inflammation of the conjunctiva- the membrane that lines the eyelid and wraps around to cover most of the white of the eye.1 Some of the symptoms are eyes that are swollen and bloodshot, itchy and irritated and often filled with pus.
Some of the factors that cause conjunctivitis are bacterial and viral infections (which are highly contagious), allergies, or foreign substances that enter the eye.
