In 1983, Kent MacLeod, pharmacist and owner of NutriChem, was approached by a group of parents seeking assistance for their children with Down syndrome.  Guided by the work of Dr. Henry Turkel, Kent formulated a group of dietary supplement products, referred to as MSB Series.

Today, Kent and his staff at NutriChem have collaborated with many parents, researchers, doctors and professionals and consequently the MSB series has undergone several revisions.  The name of the product was changed in the early 1990's to MSB Plus to signify all the added benefits and improvements that had been made to the original MSB Series.

I am very excited to introduce MSBPLUS V7. For over twenty years I have been developing the MSB Series and Version 7 represents a great step forward. Advances for V7 have come from: new research, metabolic testing through the NutriChem Laboratory, as well as from our custom formula lab.

In my book, Down Syndrome and Vitamin Therapy, I go into detail about metabolic issues and help families understand the science behind our work. What's New with MSBV7?

1. Minerals and Flavoring: NEW & IMPROVED! We were very pleased with the Southern Splash flavoring introduced with MSBPlus V6 but I wanted to make it even better. By removing a few items (bromelain, papain, and pancreatic enzymes) and moving to a chelated source of minerals, we have not only achieved more absorbable minerals but have moved flavoring to the next level.
   
   I guarantee that you have never tasted a better vitamin formula than MSBPLUS V7- the four flavors are sure to make it easy to add variety to your child's supplement routine.
   
2. Beta Carotene: increased from 2000 to 3000IU
   Testing in our laboratory has shown that every child can benefit from increased beta carotene- it is also a safe way to get Vitamin A.
   
3. Vitamin D: increased from 120 to 500IU
   Recent research has indicated that North Americans require much more Vitamin D.
   
4. Mixed Tocopherols: decreased from 400 to 200IU
   Using mixed tocopherols instead of alpha tocopherol allows us to provide a broader antioxidant spectrum and allows us to reduce the amount necessary.
   
5. Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate: NEW for V7!
   "P5P" is the active form of Vitamin B6. We have been using it for years in custom formulas and are pleased to introduce it for MSBPLUS V7.
   
6. Vitamin B12: increased from 100 to 200mcg
   Vitamin B12 is a SAM cycle co-factor. Testing has revealed higher necessities.
   
7. L-Arginine: NEW for V7!
   L-Arginine replaces L-Ornithine for V7. It stimulates the release of growth hormone, improves circulation and can be converted to L-Ornithine naturally.
   
8. Lycopene: increased from 25 to 30mg
   The increase in lycopene is a small adjustment based on testing in our laboratory.
   
9. Alpha-ketoglutaric Acid: reduced from 600 to 150mg
   Testing has shown a reduced need for alpha-ketoglutaric acid and, where necessary, can be adjusted with customization.
10. Iodine: increased from 9 to 25 mcg
    The increase in iodine is to provide support to thyroid function. Testing of thyroid can allow us to further customize the amount needed.
11. Methylcobalamin: increased from 2 to 10 mcg
    The increase in methylcobalamin is based on testing and as the active form of vitamin B12 it aids in the support of the SAM cycle.
12. Trimethylglycine: NEW for V7!
    Trimethylglycine supports the SAM cycle and the production of several neurotransmitters.

Age 6 and over:  4 scoops daily
Age 2 to 6:  2 scoops daily

Directions:
Formula should be mixed with food or liquid and given at mealtime.  Dose may by divided among meals.
