NutriChem’s Mega Mag:

The best way to get your magnesium!

What is Magnesium Glycinate?

NutriChem’s Mega Mag is the best-absorbed form of magnesium, designed to enhance absorption and digestion. Oral magnesium supplements are available in a number of different formulations, such as oxide, gluconate or chloride. The problem with other forms of magnesium is that they are poorly absorbed and most of the magnesium is excreted in the stool. This makes them good as a laxative, but not as a magnesium supplement

Mega Mag contains a highly absorbable form of magnesium. By Attaching magnesium to the amino acid glycine, transport of the mineral across cell membranes becomes more efficient. Better absorption means you can take lower doses of magnesium glycinate compared to higher doses of other forms, without causing gastrointestinal distress (laxative effect, diarrhea). This makes it more cost effective as you do not have to take as many capsules to get a high rate of magnesium absorption.

Why take Magnesium Glycinate?

Magnesium is an abundant mineral in the human body with several essential functions. In co-operation with calcium, magnesium is needed for bone health, muscle contraction and relaxation, nerve impulse transmission, blood pressure and heart function. In addition it is utilized in hundreds of enzymes, which serve to initiate chemical reactions. Taking Magnesium Glycinate is one of the most efficient was to ensure these metabolic needs are met

The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey showed that significant numbers of adults do not consume the recommended amounts of magnesium (3).  Among adults, 68% consume less than the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of magnesium, and 19% consume less than 50% of the RDA (4).  Adults who take supplements are more likely to meet the RDA for magnesium than those who do not (5).

We are strong advocates of the classic patient-physician relationship  especially with respect to prescriptions. Any patient that requires a prescription must have a face to face interaction with their physician. FDA's general position: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law.   If a woman must take hormone replacement therapy to ease the symptoms of menopause she should take the lowest possible dose for the shortest amount of time.
