Nineteen years ago, at the age of thirty-seven I had an complete hysterectomy. One year afterwards I simply collapsed. I had no energy, I was overwrought, depressed, anxious and truly frantic about what to do to help myself. I went from doctor to doctor who all told me there was nothing wrong with me and that it must be all in my head. I was even taken to emergency once by my husband because I could hardly stand up and he just panicked. They did all the usual tests and told him there was nothing wrong with me. Even the head of emergency examined me and concluded once again it was "all in her head".
I was devastated and had basically given up on the medical profession as a source of help. I knew there was something physically wrong with me. I knew it wasn't all in my head AND I knew I was now missing a few vital organs which didn't seem to count for anything with any of the doctors I had seen.
So I started down the road of "alternative" medicine. Over the last almost twenty years I have been progressively getting better with the help of copious amounts of supplements, acupuncture, homeopathy and a dietary regime that I worked out for myself using food sensitivity testing, . For a good ten years I had even worked closely long distance with a doctor in Portland Oregon who became my life saver. All these elements have added greatly to my well being and my over all state of health. HOWEVER, no matter what I did I was still always tired, tired, tired. I would force myself to go to the gym and work out even though I was exhausted before, during and after. I did this because of recommendations all health care professionals, both traditional and alternative gave. But it sure was hard on me.
Then I discovered Meta Health with Dr. Ragan and Kent McCloud. I agreed to do any testing they wanted. About one year and a half into my treatment, things were going as they usually did with all other practitioners when once again I complained about the constant fatigue. I was spending most afternoons lying on the couch unable to do much.
Then Dr. Ragan asked me. "Have you ever been tested for thyroid dysfunction?" I told him I had, many times by many doctors (both traditional and alternative) and that it always came out as normal. He told me he was suspicious because of what I was telling him and he wanted to test me again. So he did. And the tests once again came back as "normal". He was STILL suspicious. SO (thanks be to GOD) he went on to describe that in some obscure study (that only Dr. Ragan would have found. I love that man!!!) It was found that people like me, with OK blood tests but symptoms like mine DID have something odd going on with their thyroid. He wanted to try me out on a specific kind of thyroid medication to see if it would make a difference.
Well, what can I say. The afternoon couch is history! Within three days I started to feel a bit of a difference and within a week I literally felt like a new person. I have been on this medication now for about 8 months and it has literally changed, if not saved my life. I feel younger than I felt in my twenties and Dr. Ragan suggests that I have had this problem since I was born. It might even be genetic! PLUS I have shed about 15 pounds from around my hips that I have carried there (at some times more!) since I hit puberty. He even thinks that the thyroid imbalance was what caused my female health problems that led to the hysterectomy and my inability to have children. Lifelong puzzle solved. I only wish my parents were alive so I could explain why as a child I never liked to run around a lot, hated gym and swimming and had trouble doing physical play with the other kids. I didn't have even half their energy!

Hormone Imbalance - Helene, Aged 40
About two years ago, I began to feel fragmented - my mind seemed unfocused; I lived with a cloudy day feeling. Simple activities became overwhelming. My attention-to-detail mind was forgetting. I felt frustrated because I could no longer keep-up with my lifes demands. It was all too much too fast. I felt extremely tired, irritated, & confused - like a shell of myself with no pulse. Ive been taking the customized formulas for three months now and feel like myself again! When I think back to the severity of the mood swings and how I was unaware of their severity until I began to balance. I am so relieved & thankful!!! My mind is clear, even during busy and emotional challenges. I feel good, clam. My husband is amazed at the changes and is, likewise, thankful! "I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to Kent MacLeod for his ongoing support in my trials and tribulations with restoring and finding the root cause of 33 years of severe digestive problems, chronic constipation, severe abdominal distention, chronic fatigue,hair loss…etc. etc.., symptoms just kept appearing as the years went on with the last few years being extremely unmanageable.
My trials were many, many visits to the doctor, different specialist, 4 G.I. specialists( a few very invasive and uncomfortable tests), many stool tests, and of course everything comes back negative, I’m fine(haha) and I have IBS(WHATEVER).
