It's a Potluck Miracle: Healthy Foods Taste So Good!

Sure, we encourage clients to live a healthier lifestyle by taking the necessary supplements, incorporating physical activity into their daily routines and by eating a nutrient-dense diet! But how can we recommend all these things if we don’t practice what we preach!

At NutriChem, staff love, love, LOVE potluck lunches, especially Tim our pharmacist. If we could we would have potlucks at least once every week! I think it was getting to a point where we did this as well.

Usually, when people hear about potlucks it means brining in unhealthy dips, cookies, brownies, pasta salads and more tasty but unhealthy dishes.

Well, since we are geared towards healthy living, our potlucks are full of nutritious and delicious foods! And just to make things a little bit more interesting in our store, we decided to have a challenge of who could create the most scrumptious and nutritious dish.

Take a look what some of our staff created!

These were really good! She made this on homemade onion bread topped with rempeh bacon, red pepper "mayo" spread, lettuce and tomatoe

noras cuccumber salad

Nora's cucumber salad

Here is what Nora did to make this fabulous salad!

Make dressing at least an hour before for best flavour!

Mix plain greek yogurt about 2-3 tablesppons depending on how much cucumber you have, you may have to eyeball it.

Add 1/2 to half fresh lemon juice (make sure no seeds!)

Add 1-2 teaspoons of dry mustard

Mix well add pepper to taste and set in fridge for an hour.

Peel 2 medium to large cucumbers and chop small to medium size pieces and cut in half, line bowl with paper towel and let cucumbers rest in paper towel for about an hour.

Remove cucumbers from paper towel and put back in clean bowl

Chop a small amount of red onions (unless you like lots but it can over power so just a bit for colour is good)

Add to chopped cucumber

Add dressing, toss so everything is coated

Add 1/4 - 1/2 package of President's Choice Brebis Sheep Milk's Feta Cheese, crumble it and toss into salad

Serves 2- 3 or 4 small portions

If you're interested in any of the other recipes just let me know! Bon appetite!
