Job Description – NutriChem Clinic

Title: Patient Support Coordinator & Retail Health Counsellor

Reports to: Clinicians (Clinical) and Director of Operations (Organizational)

Based at: Primarily NutriChem Personalized Health Solutions at 1185 St. Laurent Boulevard, Ottawa and occasionally at NutriChem Biomedical Clinic – 1305 Richmond Road Suite 204, Ottawa 

Duration: Full-Time Permanent Position, Tuesday – Saturdays. Must be available days and evenings

Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Job Purpose:

The Patient Support Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the clinicians and to the Senior Patient Coordinator leading to excellence in patient care and to ensuring growth and success of Nutrichem Personalized Health Solutions.

Key Patient Support Coordinator Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assist patient coordinator (s) in the daily clinic administrative duties. Such duties shall include scheduling appointments, meetings, calling for reminder appointments, mail, filing etc.
  • Answering patient clinic services and product inquiries promptly, professionally and knowledgeably.
  • Marketing and selling of the body chemistry balancing test and related information including pricing, guidelines and consultations in an accurate, confident manner.
  • Scan all patient information and attach files into ClinicND software
  • Collect and analyze patient information, data and testimonials
  • Post or blog appropriate NutriChem information on Facebook, Twitter or web as directed and work collaboratively with the Social Media Committee
  • Work collaboratively with other NutriChem Clinic’s Patient Coordinators, NutriChem Pharmacy, Compounding Lab, Metabolic Testing Lab, Mail Order and main retail store staff
  • Work as required at other NutriChem Clinic locations, minimum one day a week – when at other locations also required to assist customers with product questions and selling of clinical services.
  • Provide patients and customers of NutriChem’s clinic with the highest quality client care, knowledge and excellence in customer service
  • Be able to work in fast-paced environment with different and innovative challenges
  • Patient follow-up for lab results, custom formulas and patient health progress
  • Act as a liaison between other testing companies
  • Be a motivating team leader and team player in NutriChem
  • Ensuring the clinic is organized and clean including garbage disposal, collection, waiting room organization
  • Ordering of office supplies
  • Facebook posting, blogging, twitter, website updating for clinic and pharmacy – as directed
  • Data and statistical collection, analysis and research as required by clinician
  • Use of Microsoft office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Mail
  • Organization, coordination and operation of clinician seminars, including remaining after clinic hours for duration of seminars
  • Cleaning and organizing of workspace and clinic office
  • Flexibility to come in before clinic opening hours and stay later as required for blood draws, seminars etc.
  • Other duties as required

Position Qualifications:

  • College or university diploma or degree in health or science considered an asset
  • Administrative experience considered an asset
  • Knowledge and qualifications to market and sell private clinic health tests and services
  • Excellent communication skills in speaking, reading and writing in English
  • Similar communication skills in French considered an asset
  • Knowledge and ability to recommend high quality vitamin and mineral supplements to clients and customers
  • Demonstrated initiative and professionalism
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills
  • Superior verbal communication skills
