Where can I get the BCB (Body Chemistry Balancing) test done?

The BCB test can be done at all NutriChem locations.

Do I need a referral from my family doctor?

No referral is needed

What is the BCB test?

A combination of blood and urine tests that identifies an individuals€™ proper metabolic functioning.

What does the BCB test include?

Antioxidant levels, hormone levels, vitamin/mineral status and organic acid levels are evaluated with the BCB test. The test also includes a consultation with one of NutriChem™s experienced clinicians.

What is the cost of the BCB test?

The complete BCB test is 699.00 plus HST.

Can I get some of the testing done with my family doctor?

Yes. If your doctor is willing to write a requisition form for a portion of the blood work included in the BCB test, a modified version of the BCB can be ordered. The price can be brought down to $524.00 plus HST (taking off $175.00 from the full price) only if ALL REQUIRED blood work is requisitioned. If your doctor does not requisition all the required blood tests than the remaining tests are priced out accordingly and the difference will be what is charged.

Which tests must be ordered by my family doctor in order for me to qualify for the modified BCB test?

The following tests need to be ordered by your family doctor to qualify for the modified BCB test: CBC, ferritin, TSH, Vitamin B12, Lipid Profile, Vitamin D (not covered by OHIP), Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, FSH, DHEAS, Cortisol AM, Copper (children only), Zinc (children only).

Will my insurance company pay for the BCB test?

Please contact your insurance company prior to taking the test in order to find out if the BCB test will be covered. Many insurance companies offer re-imbursement for naturopathic doctor visits. If this is the case, please request to see one of NutriChem'€™s Naturopathic Doctors for your BCB consultation in order to have part of the initial cost covered by your insurance. 

How much will my custom formula cost?

The price varies depending on what you need to balance your biochemistry. Cost vary from $1.50-$3.00 + HST per day.

What are the qualifications of NutriChems clinicians?

All of NutriChem'€™s clinicians are either licensed clinical pharmacists or naturopathic doctors.

How much education does a Naturopathic Doctor have?

Naturopathic Doctors in Ontario must first complete a bachelor€™s degree from an accredited institution including all the science pre-requisites normally required to attend a conventional medical school. Naturopathic Doctors must then complete an intensive 4 year naturopathic medical program including a 1 year internship in a naturopathic medical clinic under the supervision of a licensed Naturopathic Doctor. After graduation, Naturopathic Doctors must pass the NPLEX exam in order to become licensed.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a unique form of healthcare, which uses non-invasive therapies to promote wellness. At NutriChem the Naturopathic Doctor'€™s use nutrition, botanical medicine and lifestyle counseling to help an individual reach optimal health.

Will a NutriChem Clinician prescribe me a bio-identical hormone?

Unfortunately, pharmacists and naturopaths cannot prescribe bio-identical hormones in Ontario. The NutriChem clinicians will make a suggestion according to blood work and allow you to share that information with your family physician in order to get the prescription.

Is there parking?

Yes! Parking at both NutriChem locations is free of charge.

Can I see a NutriChem clinician without taking the BCB?

Yes. Please understand that the clinician may be limited as to what he or she can do to optimize your health if no laboratory work is provided.

Final sale on products that require refrigeration, books and items marked for clearance. Shipping fees, prescriptions, custom compounded medications and vitamins are all non-refundable.

What methods of payment does NutriChem accept?

We accept Visa and Mastercard over the phone and online we can also accept PayPal payments.

Where does NutriChem ship?

NutriChem ships worldwide! However, when shipping to the Middle East or Internationally, NutriChem CANNOT guarantee the arrival of the package. NutriChem will not be responsible for any costs of reimbursement if the package is lost.

What shipping methods does NutriChem use?

Canada

NutriChem will usually ship with UPS standard, unless your address contains RR# or P.O. Box. RR# and P.O. Box addresses will be sent with Canada Post.

USA

NutriChem will always ship with Canada Post.

International

We will ship with Canada Post. The customer is responsible for all custom charges and entry of the package into the destination country.
