This delicious recipe will have your family and guests salivating this long weekend! Grilled turkey burgers have the delicious taste of barbecued treats that we all know and love, but they are healthier than ground beef burgers in many ways. As shown in this comparison table (source), turkey burgers contain roughly the same amount of protein but have fewer calories, fats, sodium and potassium.
This recipe is easy to make, much healthier for you than store-bought turkey burgers, and the bun-free aspect makes it gluten-free and paleo-friendly. Score!
1 lb organic ground turkey
1 egg (make it egg-free by substituting 2 tbsp flax seeds mixed with ¼ cup warm water)
½ cup finely chopped parsley
¼ cup finely chopped onion
¼ cup chopped celery
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp sage
1 tsp yellow mustard powder
romaine lettuce leaves (to wrap the burgers)
desired toppings
Enjoy!
