Job Description – NutriChem Pharmacy Compounding Lab and Clinic

Title: NutriChem Pharmacy Front Store Health Counselor

Reports to: Front Store Manager and Director of Communications & Human Resources

Based at: NutriChem Pharmacy Compounding Lab and Clinic – 1303 Richmond Road, Ottawa and NutriChem Clinic & Retail Store 1185 St Laurent Blvd, Ottawa

Duration: 1 Full-Time Position & 1 Part-Time Position 

Hours: Availability of Monday to Saturday between 9am to 6:00pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm for a total of 37.5 hours a week. Part time hours between 10 to 20 hours a week

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

As a Front Store Health Counselor, your responsibilities include but are not limited to the duties outlined below:

  • Superior customer service is key and ensuring that every customer is receiving immediate attention and greeting of offer of assistance
  • Complete “opening” and “closing” daily duties assigned
  • Section upkeep duties including: facing products, checking expiration dates, inventory counting and product ordering when required
  • Use of a POS system and processing customer transactions
  • Ensure that customers are signing up for NutriChem’s Customer Loyalty Program
  • Using health knowledge to assist customers about the use of products
  • Strong product knowledge and ensuring that educate self on all the product lines that NutriChem carries
  • Offering and following up on customer’s special orders on a consistent basis
  • Promotion of NutriChem products and Personalized Health Solution services
  • Knowledge about how the Body Chemistry Balancing (BCB) works and custom vitamins that NutriChem compounds on site
  • Cleaning and organization of the front store and other cleaning duties elsewhere in the store as assigned
  • Prompt answering of phone inquiries and following up with phone inquiries
  • Working together as a team player with other NutriChem departments and Personalized Health Solutions clinics
  • Special projects that are assigned

 

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Preference given to backgrounds in nutrition, alternative medicine, fitness, homeopathy and naturopathic medicine
  • Knowledge and passion for health and the desire to promote health and wellness through mediums of supplements, herbs, homeopathy, as well as proper nutrition.
  • Minimum one year work experience working in health related retail setting
  • Excellent customer service skills and passion
  • Knowledge and use of a POS (point-of-sale) system
  • Ability to be a team player with a diverse team of Health Counselors and other departments
  • Ability to take direction and a desire to innovate and work towards a common goal
  • Open to receiving feedback with a willingness to learn and learn from experiences
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills

    NutriChem St. Laurent Retail Health Counsellor - 

    1 Full Time 1 Year Contract Position Available

    Job Description – NutriChem Clinic Title: Retail Health Counsellor and Patient Coordinator

    Reports to: Clinicians (Clinical), Director of Communications & HR and Director of Operations (Organizational)

    Based at: NutriChem Personalized Health Solutions at 1185 St. Laurent Boulevard, Ottawa (Primary) & NutriChem Biomedical Clinic – 1305 Richmond Road Suite 204, Ottawa

    Duration: Full-Time 1 Year Temporary Maternity Leave Contract

    Hours: 30 to 37.5 Hours a week Tuesday - Saturday

    Pay: $13.50 to $14.50 per hour, plus Bonus

    Job Purpose: The Retail Health Counsellor is responsible for providing supplement and nutrition information and supporting the Senior Patient Coordinator leading to excellence in patient care and to ensuring growth and success of Nutrichem Personalized Health Solutions.

    Key Patient Support Coordinator Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    • Section upkeep duties including: facing products, checking expiration dates, inventory counting and product ordering when required
    • Use of a POS system and processing customer transactions
    • Ensure that customers are signing up for NutriChem’s Customer Loyalty Program
    • Using health and nutrition knowledge to assist customers about the use of products
    • Strong product knowledge and ensuring that educate self on all the product lines that NutriChem carries
    • Offering and following up on customer’s special orders on a consistent basis
    • Assist patient coordinator (s) in the daily clinic administrative duties. Such duties shall include scheduling appointments, meetings, calling for reminder appointments, mail, filing etc.
    • Answering patient clinic services and product inquiries promptly, professionally and knowledgeably.
    • Marketing and selling of the body chemistry balancing test and related information including pricing, guidelines and consultations in an accurate, confident manner
    • Scan all patient information and attach files into Clinic software
    • Collect and analyze patient information, data and testimonials
    • Post or blog appropriate NutriChem information on Facebook, Twitter or web as directed and work collaboratively with the Social Media Committee
    • Work as required at other NutriChem Clinic locations, minimum one day a week – when at other locations also required to assist customers with product questions and selling of clinical services.
    • Be able to work in fast-paced environment with different and innovative challenges
    • Patient follow-up for lab results, custom formulas and patient health progress
    • Be a motivating team leader and team player in NutriChem
    • Ensuring the clinic is organized and clean including garbage disposal, collection, waiting room organization
    • Use of Microsoft office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Mail
    • Cleaning and organizing of workspace and clinic office

    Position Qualifications:

    • Preference given to backgrounds in nutrition, alternative medicine, fitness, homeopathy and naturopathic medicine
    • Knowledge and passion for health and the desire to promote health and wellness through mediums of supplements, herbs, homeopathy, as well as proper nutrition.
    • Minimum one year work experience working in health related retail setting
    • College or university diploma or degree in health or science considered an asset
    • Bilingualism in reading, writing, speaking in French and English is a requirement for the position
    • Administrative experience considered an asset
    • Knowledge and qualifications to market and sell private clinic health tests and service
    • Excellent communication skills in speaking, reading and writing in English
